Love

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

See how very much our our heavenly Father loves us.....
I John 3:1

For God himself has taught you to love one another.
I Thessalonians 4:9

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, its always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
I Corinthians 13: 4-7

Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love covers all offenses.
Proverbs 10:12

If we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us.
I John 4:12

Place me like a seal over your heart...For love is as strong as death......
Song of Songs 8:6- 7

God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
Romans 5:5

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can't, and life can't.  The angels can't, and the demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord!
Romans 8: 38-39

COMMENTARY

From the beginning of time, man has tried to define and explain LOVE. Love is to each heart a different image, for which there really is no definition outside of God. The ancient Greeks, known for their endless pursuit of wisdom and knowledge, had four definitions for LOVE:

Philo: essentially the love between friends

Eros: sexual love

Storge: familial love

Agape: God's love

Each of these conjures up in our minds, different pictures for each individual. Depending on the input into our individual psyches from the day of birth, we see from many and diverse perspectives.

The love we speak of on this page is AGAPE. The love that our Lord wants us to have for one another. "That's impossible!" many might reply. And so it is....in our own strength. But our Lord would not command us to do the impossible. Only as we allow the Holy Spirit to fill us , to permeate our beings with that wonderful, awesome power called God's love, only then will we be able to love one another as He intends. He only awaits our answer to His invitation. We CAN love our neighbor as ourselves. We CAN love the unlovable, the undesirable, the dregs of society. We CAN love our "enemies." But only with AGAPE, which is a free gift, awaiting only our willingness to receive it. Ask today, my brothers and sisters, and today will be the beginning of a totally new perspective on your lives, and in your hearts. He is waiting!
